Can we visit the winery?
Not yet. Once our building is renovated we will be
open for wine tasting and tours.
How often do new wines come out?
About every 6 months we have new wines ready to sell.
Are your wines made from the grapes in your vineyard?
Grape vines are not ready to produce grapes for wine making until the vines are 3 years old. We planted our vines in the Spring of 2006 so our first harvest will be in Fall of 2008. Until then, we order grapes from other places to make wine out of.
Do varieties like Merlot, Zinfandel, and Cabernet grow in Iowa?
No, the climate in Iowa is too cold for California grapes. The types of grapes we have planted (Frontenac, Edelwiess, Saint Croix and Brianna) have been bred to sustain colder temperatures.
